About The Production Team
About Wookey Films:
Jérémie and Janelle Wookey are a Franco-Métis brother-sister filmmaking team born and raised on the Canadian prairies. They have been creating film projects together since the ages of 7 and 9. After years of play led them to professional careers, their first independent documentary, Mémére Métisse garnered national attention, premiering on opening night of the 2008 ImagineNATIVE Film Festival and airing on CBC, Radio-Canada and APTN. After accruing a combined 7 years of experience working in news and production series with CBC/Radio-Canada, the two launched their own production company, Wookey Films Inc. Treading Water is the company’s first official broadcast co-production. Their next project, a short documentary on the historic Bell of Batoche, will air on Radio-Canada in the winter of 2015.
